Job Opening: Lead Infant Teacher

PAY: $19.00- $23.00 per hour
JOB TYPE: Monday – Friday 7:30 am – 4:00 pm
JOB SUMMARY: Adeline Montessori School is seeking a Lead Infant Teacher for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year, and here on out. The Lead Infant Teacher will work with students ages 6 weeks to 2 years. The Lead Infant Teacher will be able to interpret and assess individual children’s needs, communicate clearly and collaboratively with families and colleagues, and work under the supervision of the Program Director.
QUALIFICATIONS: Qualified candidates will have experience or education in Early Childhood and/or Montessori philosophy and can demonstrate excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic and passionate about early childhood education and the Montessori philosophy, with strong classroom management skills, an understanding of child development, and the ability to work as a team. Must pass a criminal background check.
Essential functions of the job may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Physical requirements include the ability to sit on the floor with students, squat down to a child’s eye level, kneel, and lift and carry up to 30 pounds
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate with co-workers and children with honesty, kindness, and patience
- Use relevant materials and technology to differentiate instruction
- Observe and evaluate students’ performance and development using Transparent Classroom
- Participate in department, school, district, and family meetings, orientations, trainings, and professional development
- Ultimately assist in creating and modeling a classroom environment and culture that aligns with the school’s vision
Other functions of the job include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic, and ability backgrounds
- Encourage family and community involvement, obtain information for families when requested, promptly return phone calls and answer emails
- Participate in appropriate professional activities and professional development
- Meet professional education requirements of the school, district, and state
- Proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative, collaborative, and effective working relationships with others
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates in early childhood development
- Experience working with children aged 6 weeks to 2-year-olds
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create an inclusive, supportive learning environment
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to work closely with staff, students, and families
