Adeline Montessori School honors the land on which we learn and grow as the ancestral homelands of the Peoria, Bodwéwadmi (Potawatomi), oθaakiiwaki‧hina‧ki (Sauk) & Meškwahki·aša·hina (Fox), as well as the Očhéthi Šakówiŋ, Hoocąk (Ho-Chunk), Kiikaapoi (Kickapoo), and Myaamia peoples. As staff, students, and families here, we are committed to honoring this territory through helping to nurture the land and its ecosystems for future generations.
To celebrate Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we would like to share Native Land Digital, a wonderful online tool whose dataset depicts Indigenous land territories across the globe. Simply type in any address and discover which Native territories have inhabited different regions.
