Job Descriptions & Requirements

Adeline Montessori School is seeking an Administrative Assistant for the 2022-2023 school year. This role will work under the direction of the Head of School and Directors.  

QUALIFICATIONS: Qualified candidates will have some experience in childcare or education, with an emphasis on leadership. This individual will help conduct a progressive and stimulating after-school program while working productively and consistently. Required skills: excellent writing and communication, knowledge of spreadsheet creation and management, knowledge of Google Apps a plus.

Essential functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Staffing the front reception area of the school
  • Perform day to day school administrative functions
  • Communicate effectively and consistently with students, colleagues, and families (Weekly newsletters, making event posts on social media, creating sign-ups, calling parents when students are absent, ill, injured,etc.) 
  • General clerical work
  • Assist in maintaining and ordering supplies 
  • Managing Attendance 
  • Attend designated orientations and in-services
  • Collaborate effectively with all faculty and staff, as well as students

Adeline Montessori School is seeking an Infant/Toddler Assistant for the 2022-2023 school year for students ages  6 weeks to 3 years. The Infant/Toddler Assistant will be able to interpret and assess individual children’s needs, communicate clearly and collaboratively with families and colleagues, and work under the supervision of the Program Director.

QUALIFICATIONS: Qualified candidates will have experience or education in Early Childhood and/or Montessori philosophy and can demonstrate excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic and passionate about early childhood education and the Montessori philosophy, with strong classroom management skills, an understanding of child development, and the ability to work as a team. Must pass a criminal background check.

Essential functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Physical requirements include the ability to sit on the floor with students, squat down to a child’s eye level, kneel, and lift and carry up to 30 pounds
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate with co-workers and children with honesty, kindness, and patience
  • Use relevant materials and technology to differentiate instruction
  • Observe and evaluate students’ performance and development using Transparent Classroom
  • Participate in department, school, district, and family meetings, orientations, trainings, and professional development
  • Ultimately assist in creating and modeling a classroom environment and culture that aligns with the school’s vision

Adeline Montessori School is seeking a Primary Teacher for the 2022-2023 school year for students ages 3 years to 6 years. Job summary includes the ability create lesson plans and update Montessori materials focused on developing social, emotional, physical, and intellectual skills. The Primary Teacher will also assess individual children’s needs, communicate with families, and work under the supervision of the Program Director. 

QUALIFICATIONS: Qualified candidates will have experience or education in Early Childhood and can demonstrate excellent communication skills as well as the ability to work collaboratively with families and faculty. Ideal candidates will have a clear understanding of Montessori philosophy, curriculum, implementation, and classroom management skills, or be willing to learn.

Essential functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans using instructional materials that align with the Montessori philosophy
  • Develop schemes of work, lesson plans in accordance with established procedures that support the socio-emotional growth of students
  • Observe, guide, supervise and assess children while they learn in the classroom environment
  • Communicate effectively and consistently with students, colleagues, and families regarding student progress and needs
  • Establishes rapport and builds loving and safe relationships with students based on trust
  • Observe and evaluate students’ performance and development using Transparent Classroom

Adeline Montessori School is seeking a Special Education Teacher for the 2022-2023 school year for students from 4k to 9th grade. The Special Education Teacher will work one-on-one with students needing special support to understand both their capabilities and disabilities as they develop and apply individualized learning approaches and materials that support students’ growth, progress, and ultimate success with an emphasis on social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development. The Special Education Teacher will  work under the supervision of the Program Director. 

QUALIFICATIONS: Qualified candidates must have a special education DPI license. Candidates must be able to implement remedial curriculums while implementing programs to help students maintain and develop life skills and cognitive strategies. The Special Education Teacher will meet special needs while evaluating, observing, and maintaining accurate records of progress.

Essential functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Ability to help create a push-in, inclusive model of special education in different classrooms for individual students
  • Facilitate the writing, meetings, follow-up, communication, re-evaluation of IEPs while coordinating with CESA
  • Utilize individualized instruction techniques to guide students through a variety of activities designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth  
  • Explore individual needs and give side-by-side support to help develop personalized solutions to each student’s learning style and abilities
  • Evaluate each student’s learning capabilities and celebrate student accomplishments
  • Encourage students to uphold Montessori values and model behavior and good character in the classroom, and in the community

Adeline Montessori School is seeking an After-School Assistant for the 2022-2023 school year for students ages 6 years to 14 years. Job summary includes assisting in registration, attendance, preparation of calendar events, administration of student information records, and communication with families. The After-School Assistant will work directly with the After-School Program Supervisor and under the Program Director.

QUALIFICATIONS: Qualified candidates will have some experience in childcare or education, with an emphasis on leadership. This individual will help conduct a progressive and stimulating after-school program while working productively and consistently.

Essential functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist in the coordination and distribution of snacks
  • Help to maintain a calendar of events
  • Assist in registration preparation, attendance, and student records and evaluations when and where appropriate
  • Maintain order and procedures during all activities, e.g. classroom, gym, playground, etc.
  • Assist in ordering supplies and maintaining facility and equipment
  • Transport students in the building to and from activities and assist in preparation as required
  • Assist in overseeing students while involved in activities
  • Communicate effectively and consistently with students, colleagues, and families regarding student progress and needs
  • Attend designated orientations and in-services
  • Collaborate effectively with all faculty and staff, as well as students

Adeline Montessori School is seeking an Art Teacher for the 2022-2023 school year for students ages 6 weeks to 14 years. Job summary includes providing art education (history, appreciation) and instruction (technique) to all students. The Art Teacher will work directly under the Program Director. 20 hours per week, Monday – Thursday 11:00 am – 4:00 pm. 

QUALIFICATIONS: Qualified candidates will have some experience in childcare or education, with an emphasis in art. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic and passionate about early childhood education, art, and the Montessori philosophy, with strong classroom management skills, an understanding of child development, and the ability to work as a team. 

Essential functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide engaging and enriching art education and instruction to all students using different mediums and techniques 
  • Include art history and appreciation in appropriate lessons
  • Prepare lessons that are culturally diverse and integrate with Montessori curriculum 
  • Must have the ability to lift supplies such as boxes and art materials
  • Maintain a clean and orderly art space for students
  • Maintain art supplies and sourcing additional supplies when needed
  • Communicate effectively and consistently with students, colleagues, and families regarding student progress and needs
  • Attend designated orientations and in-services

Adeline Montessori School is seeking a Music Teacher for the 2022-2023 school year for students from age 3 years to 9th grade. Job summary includes the ability to provide and create a music curriculum that encourages learning experiences that help demonstrate method and practice. The Music Teacher will work under the supervision of the Program Director and possibly collaborate with the Strings Instructor.

QUALIFICATIONS: Qualified candidates will provide group instruction designed to meet individual needs and motivate students. The Music Teacher will create and maintain a standard of student participation and success through modeling, observation, and evaluation. Special consideration will be given to Suzuki-trained instructors. 

Essential functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Instruct  students in instrumental music while preparing lesson plans designed to meet individual needs
  • May specialize in teaching one or more areas of instrumental music, such as music theory, performance, reading music, and listening to instrumental selections
  • Develops, instructs, conducts, and plans musical performances appropriate to student development
  • Encourage students to uphold Montessori values and model behavior and good character in the classroom, and in the community
  • Observe, guide, supervise and assess children while they learn in the classroom environment
