Job Descriptions & Requirements

Adeline Montessori School is seeking an Infant/Toddler Assistant for the 2022-2023 school year for students ages  6 weeks to 3 years. The Infant/Toddler Assistant will be able to interpret and assess individual children’s needs, communicate clearly and collaboratively with families and colleagues, and work under the supervision of the Program Director.

QUALIFICATIONS: Qualified candidates will have experience or education in Early Childhood and/or Montessori philosophy and can demonstrate excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic and passionate about early childhood education and the Montessori philosophy, with strong classroom management skills, an understanding of child development, and the ability to work as a team. Must pass a criminal background check.

Essential functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Physical requirements include the ability to sit on the floor with students, squat down to a child’s eye level, kneel, and lift and carry up to 30 pounds
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate with co-workers and children with honesty, kindness, and patience
  • Use relevant materials and technology to differentiate instruction
  • Observe and evaluate students’ performance and development using Transparent Classroom
  • Participate in department, school, district, and family meetings, orientations, trainings, and professional development
  • Ultimately assist in creating and modeling a classroom environment and culture that aligns with the school’s vision

Other functions of the job include but are not limited to the following

  • Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic, and ability backgrounds
  • Encourage family and community involvement, obtain information for families when requested, promptly return phone calls and answer emails
  • Participate in appropriate professional activities and professional development
  • Meet professional education requirements of school, district, and state
  • Proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperate, collaborative and effective working relationships with others

Adeline Montessori School is seeking an After-School Assistant for the 2022-2023 school year for students ages 6 years to 14 years. Job summary includes assisting in registration, attendance, preparation of calendar events, administration of student information records, and communication with families. The After-School Assistant will work directly with the After-School Program Supervisor and under the Program Director.

QUALIFICATIONS: Qualified candidates will have some experience in childcare or education, with an emphasis on leadership. This individual will help conduct a progressive and stimulating after-school program while working productively and consistently.

Essential functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist in the coordination and distribution of snacks
  • Help to maintain a calendar of events
  • Assist in registration preparation, attendance, and student records and evaluations when and where appropriate
  • Maintain order and procedures during all activities, e.g. classroom, gym, playground, etc.
  • Assist in ordering supplies and maintaining facility and equipment
  • Transport students in the building to and from activities and assist in preparation as required
  • Assist in overseeing students while involved in activities
  • Communicate effectively and consistently with students, colleagues, and families regarding student progress and needs
  • Attend designated orientations and in-services
  • Collaborate effectively with all faculty and staff, as well as students
