What started in 2020 with a few families and staff in a small schoolhouse is now a lively kaleidoscope of a community with over 100 families. With this growth comes new projects, new opportunities, and the need for more support.
Adeline Montessori School Board of Directors is looking to build a set of committees to assist with multiple needs in and around campus to support our classrooms and leadership team and ultimately add new members of the Board.
Our community is rich with knowledge in so many different ways. We hope to pull volunteers from our families and staff who would lend their unique perspectives to our community. We are also looking to add new members to the Board of Directors starting in 2025. The path to board membership begins with participating on one of the committees.
We are looking to start these committees no later than August of 2024 (of course earlier meetings would be wonderful). Committees would meet at a minimum once a month and have a representative who would attend the board meetings to provide a summary of the committee’s work. An AMS staff member will sit on all committees as well.
We are hoping for a minimum of 5 participants on each committee.
THE COMMITTEES INCLUDE:
Health and Wellness: school safety, student and teacher mental health, health policies and procedures, and more.
Finance: assist the board in oversight of finances, profit and loss analysis, budgeting, monitoring monthly financials, audit input, funding, benefits, etc.
Facilities: building and ground maintenance, renovation insight and oversight, future planning of space and grounds, zoning and permitting.
Family and Community Engagement: event planning, community engagement hours, networking, marking, fundraising, teacher appreciation, volunteer coordination, spirit wear, etc.
