Covid-19 Response

The health and safety of our students and faculty are the top priority for our community.

Our team is keeping a finger on the pulse of the recommendations at the state and federal levels for a safe return to school. We will be updating our procedures regularly for in-person attendance based on these recommendations. We’d like to share with you what our current response is for in-person attendance:

  • Staff is required to wear masks while students are present.
  • Students age 5 and above will be required to wear masks.
  • Students and staff will be permitted to remove masks while outdoors, eating snacks or lunch.
  • Each student should have a minimum of 2 masks with them each day.
  • It is the consensus of staff and families that we will continue wearing masks unless there is a medical exemption.

  • Anyone entering the building will be screened for symptoms and temperature taken upon arrival, remaining in the locked lobby area until cleared for entry.
  • Temperatures and symptoms check will take place twice a day at a minimum – once at arrival and once at the conclusion of the lunch period for children attending in the afternoon.
  • Temperatures and symptom checks will be logged daily per student.
  • Building access shall be reserved for students, faculty, and staff.
  • There will be limited parent access past the locked lobby for health and safety. Parents wearing masks will be allowed in the building for approved reasons if they have been screened for symptoms and have had their temperature taken in the locked lobby area.

  • Classroom materials, horizontal surfaces, and common spaces will be disinfected daily and additionally as necessary throughout the day.
  • Students will wash hands prior to and following the handling of materials.
  • Families will be asked to provide students snacks and lunches to better limit community spread.

  • Physical distancing will be practiced.
  • Sanitizer of a minimum of 60% alcohol will be available in multiple locations around the building.
  • Air ventilation and filtration will be increased.

Exposure Mitigation

  • If a student or staff member is exposed to COVID-19 or is showing symptoms:
    • that individual must quarantine for at least 14 days.
    • a virtual environment can be made available for the duration of the quarantine.
    • a negative test will only need to be provided if symptoms are shown since not all doctors are allowing tests without symptoms.
  • If there is a confirmed case of COVID-19 in a classroom:
    • all students and staff in the classroom will be transferred to virtual learning for a minimum of 14 days.
    • a negative test will only need to be provided if symptoms are shown since not all doctors are allowing tests without symptoms.
  • Second Semester started on January 4, 2021. All attendance was virtual for the first week to allow for at least 2 weeks of quarantine to take place after Christmas in hopes that it would mitigate exposure risks for all moving into spring.
