COVID-19 Policies & Procedures

At Adeline Montessori School we strive to take precautions to keep our students, families, and faculty safe while providing the highest quality Montessori education. We will do our best to follow the latest information from CDC, as the situation of the COVID pandemic changes over time.

General Policies

COMMUNICATION: All email correspondence regarding COVID or COVID-like symptoms should be sent to Michelle Krauska at  mkrauska@adelinemontessori.com.

MASKING: Starting April 25, 2022, we will move to a Masks Optional policy for all faculty and students. Masking is still an option for those who wish to continue it. The decision for anyone to continue masking will be fully supported by all AMS faculty and staff.

Symptom & Exposure Action Plan

If the student
HAS SYMPTOMS,
(regardless of vaccination status):

The student will be sent home/ must remain at home. 

They may return to school following a negative COVID test OR after 5 days AND improvement of the symptoms.

The typical school policy applies: diarrhea-, vomit- and fever-free (without the use of medication) for 24 hours in order to return to school. 

MASKING

Students should wear a mask upon return to school for at least 5 days.

SIBLINGS:

Fully-vaccinated asymptomatic siblings may return to school as long as parents monitor for symptoms and a mask can be reliably worn for 10 days from the onset of sibling's symptoms OR the ill child has a negative COVID test.

Unvaccinated siblings should quarantine for at least 5 days.

If the student was
EXPOSED to COVID-19

AND

is NOT up-to-date on their COVID-19 vaccination

OR

is not age-eligible for the vaccine:

The student must stay home and quarantine for at least 5 days

If symptoms develop during those 5 days: they may return to school following a negative COVID test OR after 5 days AND improvement of the symptoms.

The typical school policy applies: diarrhea-, vomit- and fever-free (without the use of medication) for 24 hours in order to return to school.

MASKING

Students should wear a mask upon return to school for at least 5 days.

SIBLINGS:

Fully-vaccinated asymptomatic siblings may return to school as long as parents monitor for symptoms and a mask can be reliably worn for 10 days from the last date of contact OR the contact has a negative COVID test taken on day 5.

Unvaccinated siblings should quarantine until day 5 or the contact has a negative test taken on day 5 from the last date of contact.

If the student was
EXPOSED to COVID-19

AND

IS up-to-date on their COVID-19 vaccination:

No quarantine is needed. 

MASKING

Students should wear a mask upon return to school for at least 10 days.

SIBLINGS:

Fully-vaccinated asymptomatic siblings may return to school as long as parents monitor for symptoms and a mask can be reliably worn for 10 days from the last date of contact OR the contact has a negative COVID test taken on day 5.

Unvaccinated siblings should quarantine for 5 days OR or the contact has a negative test taken on day 5 from the last date of contact.

If the student was
EXPOSED to COVID-19

AND

had confirmed COVID-19 within the past 90 days
(you tested positive using a viral test):

No quarantine is needed. 

MASKING

Students should wear a mask upon return to school for at least 10 days.

SIBLINGS:

Fully-vaccinated asymptomatic siblings may return to school as long as parents monitor for symptoms and a mask can be reliably worn for 10 days from the last date of contact OR the contact has a negative COVID test taken on day 5.

Unvaccinated siblings should quarantine for 5 days OR or the contact has a negative test taken on day 5 from the last date of contact.

If the student
TESTED POSITIVE for COVID-19 (regardless of vaccination status):

The student must stay home and quarantine for at least 5 days

If NO symptoms develop in those 5 days, students will be allowed back to school after the full 5 day quarantine.

If symptoms develop during those 5 days, they may return to school following a negative COVID test OR after 5 days AND improvement of the symptoms.

The typical school policy applies: diarrhea-, vomit- and fever-free (without the use of medication) for 24 hours in order to return to school.

MASKING

Students should wear a mask upon return to school for at least 5 days.

SIBLINGS:

Fully-vaccinated asymptomatic siblings may return to school as long as a mask can be reliably worn when they are indoors with others for 10 days.

Unvaccinated siblings will quarantine for 5 days and be monitored for symptoms. They can then return to school after a negative COVID test AND they remain asymptomatic.

If the student
TESTED POSITIVE for COVID-19

AND

was extremely ill

OR

is immunocompromised:

Consult with your doctor before ending quarantine.
