Nov 16: Parent Education Night

On Wednesday, November 16th, from 6:00-7:30 PM, we will be holding a Parent Education Night at the school.  We will have two different presentations happening simultaneously.  Please read the descriptions below and join us at the school for an evening of Montessori learning.

Montessori at Home. Discover how the Montessori approach to learning can come alive outside the classroom.
Angela Taylor, Infant & Toddler Level Lead

Montessori isn't just for the classroom. Explore ways in which you can prepare your own environment to encourage order, independence, and self-motivation. What is your role in supporting the Montessori practice? How simplifying spaces within the home enables your child to know what is expected of them. Building these connections is an invaluable way to reinforce the bridge from home to school.

What’s the Big Idea? Cosmic Education in the Classroom
Mindi Eineichner, Upper Elementary Teacher

When is the last time you learned, or have you ever learned about the following:  Australopithecus africanus, valence electrons, viral replication, the Ordovician Era, anaerobic bacteria, the cube root, sentence analysis (diagramming), or surface area and volume of a cone?

Why do Montessori Elementary classrooms introduce and study such big and complex topics?  We would enjoy your company to discuss why and how it helps your student work with purpose to find their place within the universe.
